Did you know that Tax Day, April 15, is also McDonald’s Day — a day to celebrate the world’s largest and most popular fast-food chain.
Utilizing Google Trends, BetMassachusetts.com took a break from Massachusetts sports betting and analyzed the most popular McDonald’s menu items of Massachusetts residents by looking at the search results “McDonald’s” over the last 12 months (April 2023 to April 2024). Here are the Commonwealth’s top five items to eat:
Favorite McDonald’s Menu Items in Massachusetts
A Classic Comes in First
Arguably, the best food item on the menu is the one you would usually get as a side: French fries, and they comes in No. 1 in the state with a double-digit search score of 10.
The classic and simplest choice that everyone loves on the menu is the hamburger, coming in at No. 2 with a search score of 8. Sort of a “newcomer” (founded in 1983, so 41 years ago) to the menu is every child’s single favorite: Chicken McNuggets, coming in with a score of 7.
A surprising No. 4 on the list is the Big Mac with a search interest score of just a 6. What’s in a Big Mac you dare question? A sesame seed bun, American cheese, special sauce, 100% beef patty, sliced pickles, shredded lettuce and onions all fitting in the palms of your hands for that first, big, decadent bite of joy!
Rounding out the top five is the whole package that a young child wants, guaranteed to put a smile on their face every time: the Happy Meal. Founded and presented on the menu in January 1979, the Happy Meal consists of either a hamburger, cheeseburger or small serving of Chicken McNuggets as the main item, a side of either French fries, apple slices, a Go-Gurt yogurt tube or even a salad plus milk, juice or a soft drink.
In any case, smiles are always delivered when a visit to McDonald's takes place, young or old. And for even more smiles, check out BetMassachusetts.com to get the best Massachusetts sportsbook promos.
