What is the Most Popular Birth Month in Massachusetts?

Despite being the seventh smallest state in the nation, Massachusetts is the third most densely populated area in the country. With an estimated population in 2023 of more than seven million, ever wonder what month is the most popular to give birth to a Commonwealth resident?

Summertime Birthdays Popular

Two of the three months land in the summertime for Massachusetts residents with July (103,023) edging out August (103,008). The month of May (99,555) just missed the six-digit mark and finished third.

Around the rest of the Northeast, Connecticut had the most births in August (52,535), followed by July (52,089) and September (50,317). July was the most popular birth month in New Hampshire (18,336). August (18,301) was second and June (17,545) was third.

Maine also favored July (18,223), followed by August (18,141) and May (17,676). Rhode Island had the most births in August (15,847), while July (15,531) came in second and May (14,952) third. In Vermont, July was also the top month (8,465), but only by two births over August. June was the third-busiest birth month at 8,273.
