Everywhere you turn, it seems like everyone is listening to a podcast about something.
Sometimes, podcasts are about sports betting in Massachusetts or other states, other times about pop culture, comedy or other areas. Podcasting continues to grow every day with new personalities that want to be heard with new ideas and issues that need to be discussed.
Using data from ThePodcasting.org and Google Trends, we found the most popular podcast in Massachusetts. Leveraging ThePodcast.orgâs âMost Popular Podcasts in the U.S.â list, We used Google Trends to measure the search volume in the state over the past 12 months. Here is what Bay Staters are listening to:

Joe Rogan, Crime Shows Dominate
One of the biggest news generators right now in the podcast universe is The Joe Rogan Experience, which has a search volume of 47% in the Bay State. His interviews and topics of discussion speak to the outspokenness of the people he talks to and the important issues of the day the nation is tuned into.
The Call Her Daddy podcast, hosted by Alex Cooper on the Spotify platform, placed second among Massachusetts residents at 24%. Targeting female audiences (ages 18-29), Cooper's shift from Barstool Sports, a company that used to offer Massachusetts sports betting bonuses, to Spotify has done wonders for her show and for her âDaddy Gangâ followers across the Bay State.
The Crime Junkie podcast placed third at 19%. No matter what medium, crime is a topic of interest across the nation and this podcast, hosted by Ashley Flowers and Brit, has topped podcast metrics since 2017. My Favorite Murder comes in fourth at 7%. Started in 2016 and hosted by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, the true crime comedy podcast discusses the hosts favorite true crimes and share hometown crime stories from their friends and to their ever-growing listener base known as Murderinos.
The often controversial and informative Ben Shapiro Show rounds out the top five at 3% with his conservative news podcast.
