Now that the trade deadlineās come and gone in the NBA, itās high time to reassess where each of the 30 teams competing in the league stand, with a handful of head coaches either on the leagueās short list for Coach of the Year honors or on the precipice of losing their jobs.
In the latter camp, youāll find league cellar dwellers like the 9-45 (.167) Washington Wizards, the 13-42 (.236) New Orleans Pelicans, the 13-41 (.241) Utah Jazz and the 13-39 (.250) Charlotte Hornets, with each of those clubs possibly opting to move on from their respective coaches before long.
For now, the hometown Boston Celtics are currently ranked No. 2 on DraftKings Sportsbookās NBA title odds board, at +235, behind the Oklahoma City Thunder (+225), though itās worth wondering which NBA coach will be the next out the door in the 30-team league.
BetMassachusetts.com - your home to Massachusetts sports betting coverage and promos - will be updating odds on the next NBA head coach to be fired every week. Below, you can see where we stand after the week.

Right now, we have Pelicans head coach Willie Green as our odds-on leader to get the ax next, with the fourth-year head coach of the Big Easyās NBA franchise sitting at +350 to get shown the door first, beating out Will Hardy of the hapless Jazz and Portland Trail Blazersā head coach Chauncey Billups, who both are listed at +400.
Greenās tenure in New Orleans has fallen off a cliff, going from the highs of reaching the playoffs in 2021-22 and 2023-24 to the valleys of being one of the worst teams in the league this season, which is a fate that Hardy knows well, as heās led the once-proud Jazz to three straight losing seasons, capped off by this yearās stinker of a .241 winning percentage along the Wasatch.
Billups has not been able to replicate the success he achieved as a player in his first NBA head coaching role, going 104-197 (.346) in Rip City, putting him ahead of fellow head coaching hot seat dwellers like Billy Donovan of the Chicago Bulls (+650), Nick Nurse of the Philadelphia 76ers (+1250), Quin Snyder of the Atlanta Hawks and Darko Rajakovic of the Toronto Raptors (+1500 each).
For now, none of the final four head coaches hold the type of job insecurity that the leagueās cellar dwellers do, as Green, Hardy and Billups are all up to their respective necks in boiling hot water as each looks to do whatever it takes to hold onto their jobs in New Orleans, Salt Lake City and Portland as the NBA regular season reaches its home stretch.
