Boston College Near Bottom of Chart

Boston College comes in tied 10th with Syracuse with a 24-19 (.558) overall record to start the first month of the season.

BetMassachusetts.com also looked at how BC coach Jeff Hafley fares against the spread.

Clemson (38-4, .905), North Carolina State (32-9, .780) and Miami (Fla.) (32-10, .762) form the top three and are the only three teams to have 30 wins or more.

Here is a closer look at the five-game September schedule for BC, which hosts the first three and four of the first five games:

  • Two straight wins should be in order to start the season as Northern Illinois Sept. 2 (ACC Network, noon) and in-state rival Holy Cross Sept. 9 (ACCN, noon) come to Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill.
  • A showdown with preseason No. 8 Florida State follows at home Sept. 16 (ABC, noon). The Seminoles own a 14-5 all-time series record and enter the contest on a four-game win streak, including a 44-14 home win in 2022.
  • Boston College travels for the first time this season to Louisville Sept. 23. Louisville holds an 8-7 all-time series lead, but the Eagles edged Louisville at home, 34-33, on Oct. 1, 2022.
  • A home game with Virginia Sept. 30 concludes the month. Boston College holds a 6-1 lead in the series, but lost last year on the road, 43-32.

It says here the Eagles’ first loss will be to Florida State, but their month could end up being 3-2 or even 4-1 if they can win that road game at Louisville.

Keep in mind you can’t bet on BC or other colleges in the state in most instances. But BetMassachusetts.com keeps an eye on college and pro teams on the state, as well as provides information on the top Massachusetts sports betting apps.
