Boston Draft Moves

The Celtics, perhaps still stinging from losing in the Eastern Conference final to the Miami Heat, were part of four trades Thursday night during the NBA Draft at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The latest trade has improved the Celtics championship odds.

Back on the trade front, Boston started by sending its recently acquired No. 25 pick to the Pistons for the No. 31 pick and two future second-round selections.

The Celtics then flipped that No. 31 selection to the Charlotte Hornets for the No. 34 pick and No. 39 pick.  The Celtics later traded the No. 34 pick to the Sacramento Kings for the No. 38 pick and a future second-rounder.

Boston used that pick to draft Arkansas guard-forward Jordan Walsh before swapping the No. 39 to the Atlanta Hawks for yet another future second-round selection.

Earlier that day, the Celtics were supposed to pick in the second round but moved their No. 35 pick as part of the larger deal that sent fan favorite guard Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies and shipped forward Kristaps Porzingis up to Boston.
