We were then able to reveal when you have the best odds of seeing an alien in each city across Massachusetts.

Of the 2,534 total UFO sightings in Massachusetts, they’re most common at 9 p.m. (144 sightings), followed by 8 p.m. (108), 11 p.m. (88), 9:30 p.m. (80), and 6 p.m. (61), while 10:30 p.m. (47) has just short of 50 sightings. 

By date, the most common day of the year for an alien sighting is July 4, with a total of 37 reports, while July 15 and Aug. 15 (27) rank joint-second, and June 1 (25), June 30 (23), and Sept. 1 (23) round out the top five. 

Interestingly, Halloween doesn’t even rank among the 20 most common days for UFO sightings in Massachusetts, with just 6 on Oct. 31. 

So, in short, you have the best odds of catching a glimpse of a UFO at 9 p.m. on July 4 — Happy Independence Day! Unfortunately, you won't find odds like these at a sportsbook, and the latest Massachusetts sportsbook promos typically are only available for sports betting ... for now at least.

Boston — 123 UFO Sightings

Boston has recorded a total of 123 UFO sightings, with your greatest odds of catching sight of alien life being 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. (7) on Sept. 27 (4). 

Meanwhile, 9:30 p.m. (4) is when you’ll have the next-best chance of seeing a UFO, followed by 3 a.m. (3) and 5 p.m. (3). 

By date, the top five likeliest days of the year to spot an alien are completed by July 4, Sept. 1, May 1 (3), and Aug. 23 (2). Halloween, on the other hand, has never seen an alien sighting in Boston.

Worcester — 64 UFO Sightings

There have been 64 UFO sightings in Worcester, with your best chance of spotting an alien being 9 p.m. (5) on July 4, Aug. 13, July 16, Oct. 25, or April 22 (2) — well ahead of the spookiest night of the year: Halloween (0). 

Eight o'clock (4) offers the second-best odds of seeing a UFO in Worcester, followed by 11 p.m. (3), 6 p.m. (3), and 10:30 p.m. (2).

Springfield — 60 UFO Sightings

Springfield has seen the third-most UFO sightings of all cities we’ve looked at, with 60 recorded reports of alien life. 

For the best chance of seeing an alien here, head outside at 11 p.m. (5) on July 6 (3). Meanwhile, Halloween is a no-go, with zero sightings in Springfield on Oct. 31. 

Failing that, you have the next-best odds of catching sight of extra-terrestrial life at 9 p.m. (3), noon (2), 8 p.m. (1), or 6 p.m. (1) on July 4, Sept. 26, March 15, or May 9 (2).

Cambridge — 13 UFO Sightings

There have only been 13 reported UFO sightings in Cambridge, so your odds of catching sight of alien life here are slim. However, your chance is greatest if you head out at 9 p.m. (3) on June 30 (2).

The next-likeliest times of day are 6 p.m. (2), 11 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. (1), while the next-best dates to go alien spotting are July 5 and 6, April 1, and Jan. 12 (1), with Halloween not seeing any alien action.

Lowell — 37 UFO Sightings

There have been 37 UFO sightings in Lowell, almost three times as many as Cambridge, with your best odds of spotting alien life coming on July 4, Nov. 13, or Aug. 24 (2) at 9:30 p.m. (4). 

The next-likeliest dates are June 30 and Oct. 25 (1), while other top times include 8 p.m. (3), 11 p.m. (2), 9:45 p.m. (2), and 9 p.m. (1). 

Finally, just like other cities across the state, Halloween is remarkably un-spooky when it comes to UFO sightings, with no Oct. 31 reports in Lowell.
