With just over a month to go until the NHL trade deadline comes and goes on March 7, countless teams across the league are doing the math on whether to buy or sell for the stretch run, with the Boston Bruins appearing set to do the latter in the coming weeks.
Thanks to a miserable start to the season, Boston currently sits in a tie with the Tampa Bay Lightning for fifth place in the eight-team Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference, sitting seven points back of the Florida Panthers with 26 games to play.
Right now, oddsmakers from Massachusetts DraftKings Sportsbook give the B’s +180 odds of making the NHL Playoffs in 2025, compared with -220 odds that they miss out entirely for the first time since 2016, though there’s plenty of hockey to be played in Beantown.
As we approach the 2025 NHL season trade deadline in March, BetMassachusetts.com was interested in exploring who the Boston Bruins might consider trading. Trent Frederic appears to be one of the top trade tools available for the Bruins. We developed exclusive odds projecting where Frederic will land.

Who Will Frederic Play For Next?
After spending the entirety of his 334-game NHL career with the Bruins, Frederic appears on the precipice of getting moved elsewhere, with the Bruins’ Eastern Conference rivals from Washington being the current leader in the chase to land the veteran, at +450.
Throw in three Western Conference teams, in the Vancouver Canucks at +550, Minnesota Wild at +700 and the St. Louis Blues at +2450 and you have the odds board for Frederic’s services covered, though the current leaders in the chase for the Eastern Conference regular-season points title are the top team to land the 26-year-old from Missouri right now, with a trio of teams in the West looking to get in on that action as well.
