It’s a new day and a new era for the New England Patriots in 2024, with future Hall of Fame coach Bill Belichick out the door and former Pro Bowl linebacker Jerod Mayo taking over as a first-time head coach this fall.
The Pats also drafted UNC QB Drake Maye with the third overall pick in the NFL Draft, but for now, the former Tar Heel is behind journeyman Jacoby Brissett on the depth chart.
Brissett and running back Rhamondre Stevenson led the Pats to an upset road win in Week 1 over the Bengals, all but guaranteeing Brissett starts again this weekend.
To get you ready for serious Massachusetts sports betting in the fall, BetMassachusetts.com broke down which QB will be the No. 1 choice for Mayo come Week 8 of the NFL season.

Who is the Next Man Up in 2024?
Right now, Brissett is the sure thing to start against Seattle this weekend, as he played turnover free football in the team's rousing Week 1 victory. Can Brissett and the Patriots shock the betting world again this weekend?
Over at Fanatics Sportsbook Massachusetts, the Pats are +150 to win their home opener. Still, those are shorter odds than they faced going into Cincinnati in Week 1. After his steady play in that game, expect Brissett to get a decently long leash into the Seahawks matchup. However, until he can truly get the Patriots playoff chances to look more favorable, fans will eagerly await the day Maye takes over the job.
